The PSNI Road Policing Education Team (Traffic Branch) visited the College on Tuesday 28th March 2017 to provide information on Road Safety to our Year 12 students.
The workshop involved a Crash Car Simulator. Four students at a time were given the opportunity to sit inside the crash car and watch a short video of a re-created road traffic collision. In order to enhance the experience, the car’s hydraulic suspension was manipulated to simulate the collision, with the addition of strobe lighting and smoke effects. The whole experience lasted about ten minutes and gave our students the opportunity to address road safety issues such as the use of mobiles, seat belts etc.
The students found the experience very valuable and it made them think about the dangers on our roads. We would like to thank the Traffic Branch Officers for this opportunity.
