KS3 Brief Overview

Year 8

In Year 8 we aim to build on the learning from KS2. We aim to ensure the basics are mastered and extended. Year 8, in term 2, then move on to new topics such as Algebra.

Year 9

In Year 9 pupils begin to look at new and challenging topics from GCSE Foundation Maths as they build towards beginning their GCSE course in Year 10.

Year 10

In Year 10 pupils begin their GCSE course by covering the GCSE Foundation course and a few topics from the Higher course. Pupils are tested in January and June and streamed for GCSE classes according to their results. This is then a baseline for their GCSE course.
