St. Pius X College scoops three top students in A Level Results (CCEA)

Three students from St. Pius X College have been ranked by CCEA in the first three places in Northern Ireland in a range of subjects in this year’s GCE examinations. Anna Young and Erin O’Neill achieved first and second place respectively in GCE Applied ICT. Ellen Young added to the accolade with third place in GCE Performing Arts.

Ms J Bartley, (Principal of St. Pius X College) commented, "The defining ethos of our college is the relationship between teacher and student. We respect the needs of each student as an individual and help each to develop his/her strengths. To have three of our students, across two departments, in our college achieve the top rankings in Northern Ireland at A level is an outstanding achievement. Once again I am very proud of these outstanding results and congratulate Anna, Erin and Ellen, in addition to the teaching staff in the college."

CEO Justin Edwards said: "I congratulate each of them for their hard work and dedication to their chosen subjects. I wish them well as they embark on the next chapter of their lives. I would also like to recognise and thank those that have supported them in their achievements, particularly their teachers, family and friends."

Well done to both students, their supportive parents and dedicated teachers. These subject winners have placed St. Pius X College at the forefront of educational excellence in the Mid-Ulster area. A full list of award winners can be viewed at www.stpiusxcollege.org and www.ccea.org.uk
